SUSPENDED IMMEDIATELY: Thrivent long-term care sales in WA through independent agents/third party advisors.

As a leading long-term care insurance carrier, Thrivent has a responsibility to their contract holders and distribution partners to ensure that product offerings are being used in a manner consistent with their original intent to protect clients against the risk of long-term care expenses.

Effective 3 PM PDT / 5 PM CDT on 6/17/21, Thrivent suspended long-term care sales in the state of Washington through independent agents/third party advisors.

The details:

  • This cessation of long-term care sales is limited to the state of Washington and to independent agents/ 3rd party advisors.
  • Applications submitted on or before this cutoff date/time, will be processed as normal.
  • All pending in-house business will be processed as normal.
  • Any applications received after this cutoff date/time will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made.
  • eApp will error out if/when an advisor attempts to submit a long-term care application for a WA state resident.

Thrivent anticipates resuming long-term care sales through independent agents/third party advisors later this year.

Mutual of Omaha Announcement Regarding LTCi in WA

Effective immediately, Mutual of Omaha is suspending long-term care sales in the state of Washington.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Applications submitted on or before the end of the day June 16, 2021, will be processed as normal.
  • All pending in-house business will be processed as normal.
  • Any applications received June 17, 2021, and after will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made.

As a leading long-term care insurance provider, Mutual of Omaha has a responsibility to their policyholders and distribution partners to ensure their product offerings are used as designed, offering security and peace of mind to their valued customers.

Mutual of Omaha anticipates resuming sales in Washington once again in November 2021. Thank you for your continued business, partnership and commitment to Mutual of Omaha.

Mutual of Omaha Washington State Long-Term Care Insurance Product Offering Update

In efforts to support the Washington State Cares Fund initiative, Mutual of Omaha implemented underwriting and commission changes for applications received from the state of Washington, including:

  • A 100% chargeback for policies issued May 19, 2021 – November 1, 2021 and lapsing within the first policy year.
  • Declining applications for clients not seen by a physician in the last 24 months.

However, due to continually increasing application volumes from the state, Mutual of Omaha must make additional modifications. Effective immediately, Mutual of Omaha is instituting the following adjustments to the MutualCare® Solutions product offerings for the state of Washington:

  • Increasing minimum issue age to 40
  • Increasing minimum monthly benefit to $3,000
  • Increasing minimum inflation option to 3%, lifetime duration

To process applications not meeting the minimum requirements listed, paper and e-applications must be received at Mutual of Omaha on or before June 11, 2021. No exceptions will be made.

By taking steps to ensure Washington residents purchase a long-term care policy for the security and benefits it provides rather than a means for exemption from the payroll tax, Mutual of Omaha is upholding their responsibility as a leading LTCi provider.

NGL Producer Circle – Location Announced!

NGL’s Producer Circle Requirements

  • Producer’s personal production only will be applied toward contest total. Annuities, trust conversions and lifetime pay products are not eligible. 
  • Volume (face) amount is calculated on production from 01/01/2021 to 12/30/2021 and is net of all first year terminations, lapses, surrenders, not takens and early deaths.
  • On Multi Pay policies, Producer must maintain 85% or higher persistency, calculated on previous 18 months of production.
  • Producer must be actively writing at time of award and have no debt balance.
  • To receive an award, all qualifying policies must be in good standing.
  • NGL will be the final interpreter of the rules and guidelines of this contest. Award is nonnegotiable. 
  • Changes or substitutions in travel arrangements are not guaranteed and may require a fee payable by the attendee.
  • Award recipient may be contacted by NGL and will receive a 1099 for the full value of the award which may not be substituted or transferred.
  • Producer and guest must have a valid passport.

NGL LTC: EssentialLTC – Underwriting Guide Update

As part of the recent product enhancements that took place on April 1, 2021 in 38 states, NGL released an updated Underwriting Guide dated 03.21. The new guide reflects the new Premier rate class structure, has added items based on your feedback and has more conditions listed in greater detail.

The guidelines in the updated guide are applicable to applications in all states, regardless of which version of EssentialLTC they use. Some notable updates include:

If you have a case where the original guide does not have enough detail for a certain condition, please refer to the “Premier” version for additional information.

Both versions of the guide are available at the Agent Resource Center in the “Reference Guides” section of the Sales & Marketing tab on the main navigation bar.
